Participants are introduced to the fundamentals of art such as line, shape, color and perspective while experimenting with a number of different artist mediums and styles. The museum’s 2012 season includes the traveling exhibition, American Impressionism: Paintings of Light and Life, which the Galleries Galore participants will view and create a still-life with importance on using light and color. One afternoon the students will have a chance to explore photography with Kevin Gray and his exhibition Reclaiming Gettysburg: Kevin Gray’s Modern Tintypes. The week-long experience culminates with a special exhibition of the students’ artworks and a reception for their parents, family, and friends.
