This is a follow up to Introduction to Blacksmithing. This course adapts to the student’s needs, and can be taken more than once to build skills. It will cover all of the core skills of drawing out hot iron, bending, twisting, hot punching, and mortise and tennon joints with the addition of more complicated and multi-component projects. Students should bring a sketch book and their own hammer.
 
Projects in this course may include, but aren’t limited to:
  • Cooking forks, table and cooking trivets
  • Forging tools like punches, tongs, and simple woodworking tools like a froe

Fee: $140 NYSHA members, $150 non-members

Registration and Cancellation Policies:

  • Registration and prepayment are required.
  • Registrants who cancel 7 or more days in advance of the workshop will receive a full refund.
  • Registrants who cancel less than 7 days prior to the workshop will not receive a refund unless the participant's spot can be filled.
  • If The Farmers' Museum cancels a program because of weather, insufficient registration, or any other reason, registrants will receive a full refund.
