Superior Hot Sauce

Superior Essence of Cayenne Hot Sauce is an alcohol extract prepared from peppers.  It is intended for use in foods such as chili and other dishes where a little bit of heat or spice is desired.  The historic description for the recipe states:

”This liquid has an intensely burning taste; one drop is sufficient to deprive a person of the power of speech for several seconds."

All of the products produced for resale are reproduced using recipes found in an 1845 encyclopedia and used by a doctor from the 1840’s   The products are typical of the sort of non medicinal items sold by pharmacies during the 1840’s.

Ingredients: Grain Neutral Spirits and Cayenne Pepper.
